Unforgettable, in every way.
I haven’t experienced such long days like the past two I just lived through in a really long time.
The summer Kernel is officially a go. It took a lot of help from Keith, Alice and Maggie to make it on deadline. It’s tough to put together a paper, even a weekly, when you have such a tiny staff. And Keith won’t even be here next week.
As exhausting as it was (I spent the entire day down in the newsroom), it was also exhilarating. Since I was a freshman, I always wanted a hand in the decision making of the paper. And now? I’m making the decisions. Sure, it’s summer Kernel, but it’s a way to dip my feet into the pool and feel this position of power out.
It was a long day, and as I sent the hours on to blue eyes in California, I know his day wasn’t all that great either. And it’s hard, not being able to do anything and being 3,000 miles away.
The paper will keep me busy this summer, that’s for sure. Now I just need a little more help.
I’m sleeping in tomorrow.
