Photo update: I am shooting photos. In fact, if I’m not copy-editing, writing, assigning or making phone calls, I’m either taking photos or watching soccer on television. That’s basically how my free time is spent right now.

I just discovered my Mom’s Nikon and realized all it needs is a new battery. I have a ton of film waiting to be shot, and more film that needs to be scanned in. In fact, I’ve shot more film lately than I have digital. If anything, I’ve fallen for the mystery that comes with shooting film.

I’m hoping to take an adventure in the next few weeks to rejuvenate my photo spirit. Right now I’m stuck in the mundane, and I should start looking outside my usual bubble for photos.

I’ve also began to look into how I’m going to get back to Los Angeles next summer. I’m planning on the usual, applying to news paper jobs at the LA Times, the Orange County Register and other smaller papers in the area. I want to really work on my writing and copy-editing skills this year and also design some more. As of now, I’m kind of molding myself into this person who can and is a jack of all trades. I’m slowly building my skill set so that I’m able in all fields, but my strength really is in photography and editing. So we’ll see where that gets me.
